Two taps to a happy hour.

If firing a discount takes longer than plating a dish, nobody will do it at the moment it matters.

Happy hours only work if a manager can start one while standing in a quiet dining room, deciding on instinct that the next two hours need help.

So the console asks three questions and no more: which items, how deep, how long. Everything else — notifications to nearby users, feed placement, expiry — happens without another decision.

The constraint shaped the feature. We removed approval steps, scheduling wizards and audience settings, all of which sound useful in a meeting and guarantee the tool goes unused at eight on a Tuesday.

The best measure of a merchant tool is how often it gets used in the middle of a shift, not how much it can do in principle.
