The number merchants actually ask for.

Nobody opens the console to see how much waste they avoided. They open it to see whether last night worked.

We built the partner dashboard expecting sustainability metrics to lead. In practice the first thing every operator looks at is revenue, and the second is how many of those customers were new.

So that is what the console shows first: orders, revenue, offer types converting, delivery-pickup split. Waste avoided is present and honest, and it sits lower down.

Leading with virtue would have made the tool feel like a report to somebody else rather than a tool for the business.

The interesting consequence is that partners engage with the waste figure more, not less, once it stops being the headline. It reads as a result rather than a lecture.
