The pickup window is a real constraint.
A twenty-minute collection window is not a design flourish. It is the merchant’s operational reality, exposed.
Surplus listings carry tight windows because they describe a moment: the case at close, the tray after the rush. Widen the window and the offer stops being true.
We show the window prominently and count down to it honestly. The countdowns on this site are live pickup windows, not decoration, and when one expires the listing goes.
That produces some friction. A user occasionally loses an offer while deciding. The alternative — a comfortable window the merchant cannot honour — produces a worse failure at the counter.
Better a listing that disappears than a listing that disappoints somebody standing in a shop.
