We removed the map.

A map view looks essential on a food marketplace and answered a question almost nobody was asking.

Every location-based product ships a map. Ours worked, looked good, and went almost entirely unused once the feed carried distance and pickup information.

The reason, in hindsight, is that people do not decide geographically. They decide by craving and price, then check whether the answer is close enough. A map inverts that order.

Distance is a filter on the decision, not the decision itself.

So distance moved into the card and the map came out. The feed got faster, the code got smaller, and nobody has asked for it back.
