We send fewer notifications than we could.

Every push is a withdrawal from a small account. Spending it on the wrong drop costs more than the order is worth.

A time-limited marketplace has an obvious growth lever: tell everybody about everything. It works for a fortnight and then the app is muted, which is a permanent loss dressed up as a temporary win.

So notifications are tied to proximity and relevance rather than volume. A happy hour at a place you have ordered from, within range, in the next hour. Not a digest of everything discounted in the city.

A muted app has no distribution, no matter how good the offers behind it are.

The uncomfortable consequence is that some genuinely good drops go unannounced. We accept that. The alternative is being ignored on the night it actually matters.
